About me

My Journey

I lost my mother to cancer when I was seven.

By the time my father was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2008, I'd already watched two uncles die from it. That was the moment I stopped hoping I'd somehow be fine and started doing something about it.

I changed how I ate, how I moved, how I thought about my body. I went back to school, studied nutrition, disease prevention, exercise, and hormonal health.

In 2017, at 38, I became a certified health coach. I've worked with over 400 women since then.

But the work shifted when I hit 43.

That's when perimenopause started for me. I knew the textbook version. I didn't know what it actually felt like to wake up at 3am unable to fall back asleep, to feel anxious for no clear reason, to watch my weight change without changing what I was doing. I went through the confusion, the conflicting information, the appointments where I felt unheard.

At 45 I started HRT. It helped. But it also made clear to me how much women in perimenopause need someone who understands both the clinical side and the day-to-day reality of it.

I'm 47 now. Perimenopause is what I know best. Not just from studying it. From living it.

National Board Certified Health Coach Vered Westell

My Expertise

I hold the NBC-HWC, the National Board Certification for Health and Wellness Coaching. It's the highest credential in the field.

I've spent years deepening my knowledge specifically in female hormonal health, perimenopause, and menopause. I understand how estrogen and progesterone affect sleep, weight, mood, metabolism, and cardiovascular health. I know how symptoms shift across the perimenopause years and what the evidence actually says about managing them.

I'm also certified in diabetes lifestyle coaching, which gives me a strong grounding in metabolic health. That's increasingly relevant because many of the women I work with are on GLP-1 medications. Understanding how those medications work, what they require nutritionally, and how to protect muscle mass while on them is a specific area of knowledge I bring to that work.

I speak English, Spanish, Hebrew, and Russian, and I've worked with women across three continents over 8 years of practice.

My Approach

I don't use a fixed program that everyone goes through in the same order.

We start with a 90-minute session where I get a clear picture of your health history, your symptoms, what you've already tried, and what your life actually looks like. From there, we build around what matters most to you right now.

I want you to feel comfortable saying the things you haven't said out loud yet. The frustration, the confusion, the things that feel embarrassing to bring up with a doctor. Nothing you share will be met with judgment or a lecture. That's not how I work.

I listen before I say anything. And when I do respond, I'm direct. I'll tell you what the evidence says and where there's genuine uncertainty. I won't dismiss what you're experiencing or hand you a generic plan.

Between sessions you have access to me on WhatsApp. A lot shifts between sessions, and being able to ask a question or flag something in the moment changes how the work goes.

What I'm trying to help you build is a way of managing your health that holds up in real life. Not a perfect plan. A workable one.

Who I Work With

You're probably in your 40s or early 50s.

You've noticed things shifting. Your sleep, your weight, your mood, your energy. You're trying to figure out what's actually going on.

You've done your research. You've tried things. Some of it helped, some of it didn't, and you're tired of conflicting information that doesn't account for where you actually are in life.

You might be in early perimenopause and just starting to connect the dots. Or you might be further along, already on HRT or a GLP-1 medication, and looking for someone who understands both the medical side and the day-to-day reality of managing your health through this.

What you want is someone who will actually listen, give you a straight answer, and help you build something that works for your specific situation. Someone who can look at your bloodwork with you, help you understand what the numbers mean, and prepare you to have a more informed conversation with your doctor. Not a generic plan. Not another program that assumes you have unlimited time and willpower.

A perimenopause health coach works with you on the lifestyle factors that sit alongside whatever your doctor is managing. Nutrition, sleep, movement, stress, and how all of it interacts with your hormones and any medications you're taking. It's practical, it's personalized, and it's built around your real life.

If that sounds like what you're looking for, let's talk.

What My Clients Say About Perimenopause Coaching

Client's testimonial

Helen Dawson

I was over 200 lb when I started working with Vered, I have lost just under 13 lb in the first 3 months and 28.5 lb overall. I also discovered many 'new' foods which are now every day items. Vered also helped me to find suitable gentle exercise routines to back up the food changes.  I'm really happy with the results so far and am feeling a lot better in myself. I still have a way to go but for now it's so far so good. Thank you Vered!

testimonial

Angelique Chandler

At the beginning of 2021 I had a sprain ligament and my doctor advise was to lose weight if I wanted a speedy recovery. I also had bad period pain and was diagnosed with a 3 centimeters fibroid.
I am profoundly proud to say that my discipline and commitment to my heath has paid off. Now after 6 months I have lost 20 pounds: I went down to 152 lb and I am now fibroid free, and my leg is 97% better.
WOW! Life feels Super Incredible now….
